Everett Lee Henson was born on April 21, 1928 and passed away on June 22, 2020 and is under the care of Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
Everett Lee "Ebb" Henson passed away June 21, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 92. He was born in Willis, Oklahoma to Etta and Lee Henson the youngest of 7 siblings (2 died in infancy). At the age of 12, Ebb survived undulant fever missing a year of school. He graduated from Madill High School where he excelled in sports. After high school he won the Oklahoma State Championship in Men's Fast Pitch Softball, with the Madill Oilers and went on to place 10th in the NSC in Greeley Colorado in 1949. Ebb married the love of his life, Reba Almeta Richardson, at 20 years old. He joined the Air Force in 1950. He did Basic Training at Lackland AFB then was stationed at McChord in Tacoma, Washington. He then served overseas at Clark AFB in the Philippines during the Korean War. Upon returning home he was stationed at Sewart AFB in Tennessee where his daughter Terri, was born, and then transferred back to Washington State, at Larson AFB in Moses Lake. He worked as a baker in Moses Lake at Sigmund's Grocery, while continuing his service in the Air Force. Ebb was later hired by Safeway to manage their bakery in Tacoma, Washington and lived there until deciding to move back to Oklahoma in 1968. In 1998 he received a life saving liver transplant, and since then has been a supporter of the Nazhi Zuhdi Transplant Center. He enjoyed playing golf, and spending time with his buddies on the basketball court, caring for his wife, Reba, and being an outstanding husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, neighbor, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Reba; daughter and son-in-law; Terri and Don; and grandson, Ryan. He was preceded in death by his parents Etta and Lee Henson and siblings, Gertrude, Lois, John and Tina.
