Sally Allen
August 11, 1944 – June 21, 2020

Sally gained her wings Sunday morning at Tennova Hospital in Clarksville, TN. She was residing with her daughter, Stephanie and family after a melanoma diagnosis.

Sally Allen was born to Nellie Sue Tyrrell and Walter "Jack" Allen on August 11, 1944 in Newbury, England. She traveled across the pond at 18 months, aboard the Queen Mary. Her parents and beloved brother, Michael Brown proceeded her in death.

Survivors include, her daughter Stephanie Grissom, and husband Bill, a granddaughter, Victoria, a grandson Kevin Michael, a nephew, Michael Pat Brown and wife Adriana, who she loved with her whole heart, as much as the whole wide world.

She graduated from Shawswick High School in 1963, keeping in touch with many, organizing and planning class reunions. After high school she married Charles L. Root on December 1, 1963 for a short time then married Roger R. Inman on August 1, 1970.

She retired from AT&T as an operator, of 24 years. She also volunteered at Dunn Hospital Auxiliary where she was the Pink Lady Gift Shop Manager.

Sally's passion in life, was her only daughter, Elvis, taking pictures and party planning... not necessarily in that order. She loved bringing people together and making sure every last detail was perfect.

Later in life, she walked into Bedford's First Christian Church and was active in every way possible. Serving on committees, being a Deacon, visiting the homebound and of course, cooking up everyone's favorite sweet potato casserole for every dinner, whether it was Easter, Christmas or July 4th.

She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a momma, a mother in law and a gramma, as well as dearest friend to so many! She will be loved and missed forever, till we meet again.

Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Judi Early officiating. Burial to follow at Pinhook Cemetery.
