After owning his own business in Salisbury for many years he went to work as a manager at Joe Horisk's Salvage Pool in Fruitland, Maryland. He attended Kent & Sussex Church of Christ, and was a member of the Wicomico American Legion Post 64 and the Moose Lodge #654 in Salisbury.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Avalon Rentz, a son Bobby Rentz, brothers, Mac, Billy, Charles, and Ricky Rentz; and a sister, Carol Steele.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Rentz, a son, Michael Rentz, daughter-in-law, Danette Rentz, step-daughter, Terry Powell, and grandchildren, Gregory Dutton, Joseph Rentz, Zachary Rentz, and Kacie Zaleski. A great-granddaughter, Zoey Zaleski, and his sisters, Janet Kanoy, Lois Rentz, Kay Davidson and brother-in-law, Roby Sheppard, and several nieces and nephews.
