Lane Native Dies at 87

Funeral services will be Thursday in Eugene for a native of Lane County, George Amos Barger, 972 Madison St., who died Monday morning.

Barger, 87, was born in Coburg on Oct. 15, 1874. He moved to Eugene at an early age. In 1901 in Eugene, he married Delia Ham, who survives.

Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

For more than 40 years, Barger was employed as a clerk for the Southern Pacific Co. in Eugene. He retired in 1941.

Barger was a member of Eugene chapters of Modern Woodmen of America and the Knights of Pythias.
