Betty J. Fry, 88, lifelong Texhoma resident, passed away Monday afternoon, June 22, 2020 at the Heritage Community Manor.

Betty was a wife, mother and beloved friend to many. She was a life-long resident of Texhoma, OK. She peacefully went to be with her Lord on June 22, 2020.

Betty is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jack Fry, also a life-long Texhoma resident; her daughter, Rickey Fry-Blankenship and husband Gary Blankenship, Wimberley, TX and son, Michael Lee Fry, Visalia, CA; granddaughter, Nicole Reid-Kiser and husband Wayne Kiser, Austin, TX and two great grandsons, Liam and Luke Kiser, Austin, TX. Her extended family includes a sister Carolyn Gilstrap, who resides in Georgia and a brother, Bobby who lives in Salisaw, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Zetta Burleson.

Betty was born in Elmer, OK on November 21, 1931. The family moved to Texhoma when she was quite young. There, she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jack. They married on October 24, 1950 and were married 68 years.

Betty was active in the First Christian Church in Texhoma, being a Sunday School teacher and was also very involved in the women’s group. She was a wonderful cook and her desserts disappeared quickly at every potluck dinner! One of her favorite places to go was to “the place” she and Jack own in Taos Canyon, NM. She spent many happy days and weeks there and on Eagle Nest Lake with Jack, who taught her to fish!

She will be deeply missed by not only her family but also her friends. Her acts of love and kindness will not be forgotten.

There will be a graveside service at 10 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Texhoma cemetery, for family and those who care to attend. Pastor Matt Maples, First Christian Church, officiating. There will be a memorial service at the First Christian Church scheduled later after the threat of COVID has subsided.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the First Christian Church missions fund. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
