Ricky J. Pruitt, Sr, age 68 of Morganton, GA passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was preceded in death by mother, Rilla Nell Pruett; father, Ellis Pruett; son, Ricky J. Pruitt, Jr. Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Rita Kimbro Pruitt, Morganton, GA; son,, John James Pruitt and wife, Jennifer; six grandchildren, Aubrey Willoughby, Maklaya Day, Alona Nicole Pruitt, Luke Willoughby, McKenzie Day, Heather Lynn Pruitt; sisters, Rita Annette and husband, Frankie Farr, Gainesville, GA, and Cheryl Darlene Pruett and husband, Terry Chambers, Flowery Branch, GA; and other relatives. Mr. Pruitt was born on January 15, 1952 in Buford, GA. He was a 1970 graduate of South Hall High School and also of Gwinnett Hall Baptist College. Mr. Pruitt was a commercial construction worker as a superintendent, and he was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church in Buford, GA. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Johnson and Rev. Charles Grant, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
