Carol Garner Riggs, 62, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Monday, June 22, 2020, at her residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, January 26, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of Billy A. "Bill" Garner and the late Peggy McKee Garner. Mrs. Riggs was a retired employee of the Dyer County School System, where she taught for thirty five years, Most of her teaching career was spent teaching kindergarten at Holice Powell Elementary School. She was a member of RoEllen Church of Christ.
Graveside services for Mrs. Riggs will be 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating the service will be Mr. David Brooks and Mr. Billy Beagle.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Riggs of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter, Chas Garner Cupples (Dylan) of Bells, Tennessee; two step-sons, Steven Riggs (Kellie) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Kenneth Riggs (Taysha) of Georgetown, Kentucky; her father and step-mother, Billy A. "Bill" and Wanda Garner of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Kevin Garner of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Jane Teague of Dyersburg, Tennessee and she was a "Loving Nana" to Cannon Cupples, Maci Carol Cupples, Ethan Riggs, Eli Riggs, Annie Riggs, Willie Riggs, Alli Claire Roberts and Alex Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy McKee Garner.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Cupples, Earl Burton, Steven Riggs, Alan Jackson, James Bizzle and Dustin DeSpain.
