"Col. R.R. Spedden, clerk of Clatsop County, has left the city on a tour to Walla Walla and through that section of country on a visit to his sons and relatives who have taken homes in that locality. Mr. H.B. Ferguson has been appointed deputy clerk during the absence of Col. Spedden."
