Billy Neal Mize is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Helen Watkins Mize: his only Son, Barry Mize; Sister in Law Ruth Mize and many Nieces and Nephews.
Billy Neal Mize was born in the community of George, in Madison County, Texas. Mr. Mize met Helen Watkins, of Marlin, Texas, in the George Community. She was his pen pal as he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He earned 4 Bronze Stars, Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Unit Badge and World War II Victory Medal. After his service he married his pen pal, Helen Watkins in May of 1946 and his Son Barry was born in 1955.
Mr. Mize spent most of his career in the Trucking industry and retired in 1988. When he was a young man he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. In his later years he always enjoyed a good game of Dominoes. Mr. Mize lead a truly honorable life and will be sorely missed by those he loved.
