Geraldine Bartlett Beck, 94, Sun City, Fla., formerly of Ireton, died May 1,2006. A Memorial Service was held at Sun City Center, Florida, on May 4,2006. Her remains are interred with her husband Arthur in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton.

Geraldine was born April 29, 1912 in Ireton, the daughter of William and Phoebe (Miller) Taylor. She graduated from the Ireton High School in 1930. She married Arthur Bartlett in 1934 and helped him manage his corn shelling and Pioneer Seed business. She also taught kindergarten in Ireton. Arthur died in 1965, shortly after they had moved to Sioux City. Geraldine continued teaching kindergarten in Sioux City until her retirement in 1972. She moved to Sun City Center, Fla in 1977 and was united in marriage to Richard Beck in 1983. Richard died in November, 1995.

Survivors includes nephews William Taylor of Waverly, Iowa, and Richard Taylor of Ankeny, Iowa; niece Jean Newton of Charles City, Iowa, and step children Donald Beck of Hancock, Mich.; Stephen Beck of Newark, Ohio; Virginia Phelps Klute of Sarasota, Fla.; and Marilyn Alden Beck of Dedham, Mass. She was preceded by her first husband Arthur, childhood brother Wesley, and brother Dr. Wendel Taylor.
