Mrs. Reardon worked in the accounts department of the First National Bank in Stonington from 1930 to 1936. She was a correspondent for the Norwich Bulletin and the Stonington Compass in the 1940's and 50's. She was an avid reader and a master crossword puzzle solver.
During WW II, Mrs. Reardon worked for the British War Relief and the National Association of Friends of Widows and Orphans of the French Resistance.
Active in many charitable and civic organizations, Mrs. Reardon was Commissioner of the Stonington Girl Scout Council and served as a troop leader for many years. She served as secretary of the Village Improvement Society, and as secretary and founding member of the Stonington Garden Club. She was an incorporator of the Westerly Hospital and secretary of the Eastern District, Child and Family Services, Child Guidance Clinic in New London, CT.
Mrs. Reardon was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church of Stonington Borough and served as secretary of the Calvary Club for many years.
Mrs. Reardon is survived by a daughter, Penna and her husband John North of Monroe. NJ, and also a son, Nicholas and his wife Suzanne, of Stonington, five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and a sister, Margaret.
There will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Calvary Church, Stonington at 10:30 AM and burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Stonington.
