Rita Delene Cross, age 67, of Jamestown, KS passed away Sunday Afternoon, June 21, 2020.
Rita enjoyed arts, writing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rules were nonexistent at Grandma Rita’s. Not only was Rita a wonderful mother to her own children, she was a second mom to the town kids. Her door was always open. Rita had a passion for motorcycles and camping. Rita shared a special bond with her two sisters which consisted of several girls’ trips, no men allowed, and Rita being “The Boss”. Rita has always had a love for dogs, so much so that she was known as “The Crazy Dog Lady on the Corner”. Rita was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent women who will never be forgotten.
Rita is survived by a daughter and four sons, several grandchildren and great children, two sisters and two brothers. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband Wade, two sons: Kenneth Gaylor and Jason Cross, and one daughter Laurie Lynn Baugh. Rita and Wade married on April 9, 1988 at Great Bend, Kansas. They were married 28 years when Wade passed in a motorcycle accident in 2016.
Graveside Services were held at 10am Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Jamestown Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Post Rock Humane Society.
