He was born February 3, 1934, in Surry County to the late E.B. "Bert" Coleman & Nevada Elizabeth Cox Coleman.
Mr. Coleman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Randolph CVA15.
Mr. Coleman retired from R.J. Reynolds and was a member of Whitakers Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Ann Marion Coleman; daughter, Karla Yvette Coleman Lancaster & husband Thomas "Tommy" Earl Lancaster II; grandchildren: Thomas "Trey" Earl Lancaster III & Tyler Cole Lancaster; brothers: Ben Elwood Coleman & Rex Coleman; and three special friends & brothers of the heart: Quentin Sechrist, Ted Barbee, & Greg Hauser.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his sisters: Edna Coleman Gordon, Lunda Coleman Denny, & Verta Irene Coleman; and brother, James Robert Coleman.
Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Joseph Fulk.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 1, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Howell-Nelson Funeral Service.
