He was a data analyst at the Ohio Department of Transportation. He met his wife, Linda, at a family owned business. He was a Roman Catholic who attended services at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Parish with his wife for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Linda (Thibaut) Russell, son Ryan Russell of Burbank, CA; sister, Nora (Russell) Bolon.
