George Glover Allison III, 70, walked into Heaven, on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, and spoke to his loved ones, after not being able to communicate for many years. He lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, until October 2012, and then lived at Lawton/Fort Sill Veteran’s Center, until his passing.
A memorial service celebrating George’s life, will be Saturday, April 1, 2017, 10 A.M., at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home, with Dr. David Hartman, First Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be on Sunday, April 2, 10 A.M., at Clear Fork Cemetery, in Stephens County, TX, with Robert Parkhill officiating.
He was born October 21,1946, in Greenville, TX, to George and Celine Ruehle Allison. He was a 1965 WFHS graduate. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam’s 75th Supply, 1966 until 1968. He attended MSU and graduated with a BBA. He was a Boy Scout, a member of the DeMolay’s, president of the Southwest Optimist Club, worked with Christmas in April and was a part of Project Playground. George worked at various jobs after graduating and marriage, including American General Life, where he was top regional salesman, and at Saint Gobain Vetrotex America, until his health declined in 2003.

George never met a stranger, and his laugh was contagious. He loved spending time with his family and had many interests including collecting antique toys, dove and arrowhead hunting, fishing, bowling, watching the Dallas Cowboys and playing dominos with family. He loved construction and helped build three family homes. He was the Director of the Clear Fork Cemetery and loved keeping it maintained. He embraced family traditions of Fourth of July campouts, family reunions at our river cabin, and lazy days at our Lake Hubbard Creek cabin. After his stroke, he wore two golf carts out collecting cans along the lake roads with his grandchildren. He loved going to Basin Street weekly to hear the Mad Medics’ jazz sessions.
