Jane Dean was the daughter of Evans E. Dean, Jr., and Anstrus Kenyon. She married John Alexander Dorn on 16 March 1845. The couple resided in Esperance, Schoharie County, New York and had one child, Alexander, who did not survive infancy. John had been married to Jane's younger sister, Abigail Dean, who died at the very young age of just 22 leaving behind her two little sons, William Edgar and Robert Solomon Dorn.
