Mrs Siefka Tjaden, whose home has heen near Manson, Iowa, during the past four years, but who was born and lived most of her life in this vicinity, died yesterday morning at 2 o'clock at St. Mary's hospital at Streator.

Mrs Tjaden became sick the first of this year and a few weeks ago she decided to come to Minonk to consult a physician. She was taken to the hospital at Streator, where a week ago last Friday an operation was attempted. When it was learned that a cancerous tumor was causing the trouble, all realized that no more could he done excepting to wait for the fateful end.

Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased's mother, Mrs. Edo Duden, west of town on last Friday afternoon at 12:30 and at St Paul's Evangelical church in this city at 1:30, Rev Theodore Kettelhut officiating at both services. Burial was made at the Minonk cemetery.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. E. J Gommels, of Manson, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs Henry Bunger, of Kirkland; Miss Anna Tjaden, of Alta Vista, Iowa, and Mrs. William Hess, Mrs. Herman Tjaden and Jacob Tjaden, all of Floyd, Iowa.

Catherina Ida Dora Duden was born at the home west of town on June 28, 1885 where she grew into womanhood. She was confirmed at St Paul's Evangelical church in this city on March 27, 1904, and on March 24, 1914, she was united in marriage to Siefka Tjaden. Mr and Mrs Tjaden moved to a farm near Manson, Iowa, which had since been their home.

Those of the immediate relatives who survive are her husband, Siefka Tjaden; her mother, Mrs Edo Duden, of west of Minonk; one brother, John Duden, of west of Minonk, and four sisters: Mrs R. C. Ficken, of Benson; Mrs E. J. Gommels, of Manson, Iowa; Mrs Henry Bunger, who resides in Lee county, and Miss Hannah Duden, who resides with her mother.
