Richard L. Ellison, age 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Filmore Ellison and Margaret Gilmore Ellison, and two brothers, Charles Ellison and Bobby Joe Ellison.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Juanita Carr Ellison of the home, his daughter, Tess Ellison of Elizabethton; son, David Ellison and wife, Rachel of Elizabethton, his beautiful grand-daughter, Amelia Claire Ellison who was the light of his life of Elizabethton; his loving sister, June Walters and husband Erie of Princeton, WV; brother, Denny Ellison and wife Wanda of Princeton, WV; his special nephews, Brad Burton and Todd Burton both of Arkansas; niece, Debbie Burton-Sloane of Cleveland, TN; cousin, Terry Hamm of Elizabethton and his life-long friend Steve Vannoy of Elizabethton.

Richard enjoyed life and he never met a stranger. He was an avid outdoorsman and a talented musician who loved playing his guitar.

A graveside service to honor the memory of Richard will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at New Slagle Cemetery with Pastor Gary Cole officiating. Pallbearers will be Brad Burton, Todd Burton, Terry Hamm, Josh Hamm, Justin Hamm, Dwight Rasnick and George Cole. Honorary Pallbearers will be Erie Walters, Steve Vannoy, Sam Carr, Larry Miller, Roy Ward and Bill Raymond. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Tuesday.
