Recompence Wadsworth was born the third of five children to Deacon Ebenezer Wadsworth (1660/61-1717) and his wife Mary (ca. 1660-1737/38) of Milton, Norfolk Co., MA. On May 20, 1714 he married Sarah Morey (1682-1728), daughter of Walter Jonathan Morey and Mary Bartlett Morey of Milton. The couple had five children: Sarah (b. 1715), Mary (b. 1717/18), David (b. 1719/20), Jonathan (b. 1722/23), and Ebenezer (b. 1725). Recompence Wadsworth died at the age of thirty-nine.
