Funeral services for Kenneth Donald Owens, 91, will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Carey Baptist Church with Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 in Childress.
He was born December 30, 1928 in Quail, Texas to Jewel Silas Owens and Dona Beatrice Vernon Owens.
Kenneth loved hunting, fishing, camping in Colorado and like to joke and drink coffee at the Co-Op with his friends. He married Mattie Owens March 10, 1946 in Memphis, Texas and they recently celebrated 74 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Owens of Childress; a son, Don Owens and wife, Delz; a daughter, Serena George and husband, Kelley; grandchild Terry George and wife, Megan; grandchild Tamara Hudson and husband, Eric; great grandchildren Serenity Hudson, Ryland George and Sylas Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
