On June 15 1904 Margaret (9) boarded the General Slocum with her mother Eva (32), sisters: Anna (10), Margaret (9), Julia (8 months) and many of their friends and neighbors.
Shortly after departing, the ship caught fire which spread quickly.
Cecelia survived unharmed. Her mother and sister Margaret survived also and were both treated at Lincoln hospital. But her other sisters Anna and Julia were killed.
Cecelia married Harry Reisenfeld on November 8, 1921 in Manhattan and died at age 54 in Ridgewood, Queens on June 21, 1952. Her obit stated that she had been a survivor of the Slocum Fire. She had been a member of the General Slocum Survivors Association.
