ROCKY MOUNT Gail Brown Williams, age 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on September 30, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Brown and Dehurse Ramsey Brown. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary "Sissy" Brown Tharrington and her husband, Roy, Jr.; her in-laws, JT and Inez Williams.
Gail was a longtime member of Parkwood Baptist Church. A woman of great faith, she loved her church and church family. Gail lived a life that reflected the love of Jesus to the world. She had a servant's heart, always taking care of her family and friends when in need, even if it was just her presence in the background. Gail was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Gail leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 52 years, Joe Williams, of Rocky Mount; son, Ashley Williams and his wife, Tammy. She is also survived by her special grandchildren, Ty and Landis Williams, all of Raleigh; special friends, Shirley Edmondson and Linda Pridgen, but everyone was special to her.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Gail's Life will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Pineview Cemetery with Pastor John Scott officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gail's memory to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1731 Hunter Hill Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
