Fannie M. Duncan Thompson, 80, of 90 Chambliss Circle, Cataula, GA died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Clowers C.M.E. Church, Cataula, GA with the Reverend Dr. DeWayne Crew officiating. Burial will follow in Clowers Church Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 1 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home, according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Thompson was born September 16, 1929 in Talladega, AL to the late Beatrice Oneal Bedell Duncan and the late Dan Duncan. She was a faithful member of Clowers C.M.E. Church having served as an usher until her health failed. In the community, she was an active part in helping those in need through cooking, child care, and clothing and always offering words of encouragement. Survivors include her sons, Walter I. Thompson, Cataula, GA, Milton "Anne" Thompson (Bonda), College Park, GA, Robert Thompson (Joyce), Fayetteville, GA, Stanley Thompson, Columbus, GA, Hermon Thompson, Conley, GA, and George Thompson, Columbus, GA; daughters, Mary L. Boston, Geneva Embry (Robert), all of Columbus, GA, Patricia Holmes (Fred), Hamilton, GA, Linda J. Holmes (Leonard), and Juanita Barnett, both of Cataula, GA; sister, Rosie Mae Hudson, Waverly Hall, GA; 20 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and friends.
