Ruthie Joan Brookshire of Greenville, TX received her wings on Wednesday, June 18, 2020 at the age of 81 as of March 18th. She was born in Denver, CO. Ruthie married John Dayton Brookshire on December 2, 1957 in Beaumont, TX. She is preceded in death by her mother & father Sam & Ruth Wallace, her husband John Dayton Brookshire, son Johnny Wayne Brookshire & grandson Gary Perry.

She is survived by sons David (Rhonda) Brookshire, Lee (Kristi) Brookshire, William (Bridget) Brookshire, Kenneth Brookshire & daughter in law Pam (James) Davis. She was a loving grandmother to Tammy Perry, Johnny Wayne (Leslie) Brookshire, Sabrina (Brad) Austin, Chase (Debbie) Wheeler, Lacey (Chance) Damron, Lane & Colten Brookshire, Kenny, Alan, Brandon & Tabitha Brookshire, WT & Dylan. Ruthie was blessed with great grandchildren, Peyton Perry, Bryce, Sam & Finley Brookshire, Eli & Luke Wheeler, Dayton & Tucker Austin, Austin Brookshire, Carly, Sadie, Bella, Mason, Bethany, Ryder, Danielle, Jax, Paisley, Waylon, Enzlie, Logan, Adelynn, Rylan, Brayden & Brooklynn.

Ruthie will be fondly remembered by family & friends as a loving, kind woman. She was very quick wit & would always speak her mind. One of her biggest hobbies was shopping. Ruthie also enjoyed going on trail rides in the wagon with the family or riding her horse. Ruthie, being the loving great grandmother she was, always sent the kids cards for every holiday & birthday & they enjoyed receiving them just as much. She was a member at First Baptist Van Alstyne & Highland Terrace Baptist in Greenville. Ruthie worked at Tom Thumb before retirement for many years.

She will be buried with her loved ones at Luella Cemetery.

The viewing will be held at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 6p.m.- 8p.m. & the service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11a.m. You are invited to join the family at her final resting place in Luella immediately following.
