John Milner the son of Amos and Hannah (Rice) Milner was born in either Fayette or Bracken County Kentucky in 1786. He was married on 13 March 1806 to Nancy Meranda the d/o Samuel and Jemima Meranda. They were the parents of Sarah Milner (never married), Amos Milner, Jemima (Milner) Harlan, William R. Milner, Samuel M. Milner, Eliza (Milner) Scofield, Hannah (Milner) Silvey, Malinda (Milner) Backhouse, Nancy (Milner) Backhouse, John W.B. Milner, and James M. Milner. John is on the 1813 tax list for Bracken County, KY and settled in Jackson Twp., Fayette Co., IN in 1815. A John Milner served as the Fayette County Coroner from 14 September 1825 to 1 November 1827. His probate record can be found in Fayette Co. probate order book 1, p.446. He is buried next to his wife at Village Creek Baptist Church in Fayette County.
