Katie was the daughter of W. D. Walker and Bessie Lowe Walker. She was educated in the Macon County School System and attended the historic Flint River Schools in Montezuma, Georgia. She was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Marshallville, Georgia where she was a member of the Choir. She enjoyed cooking and flowers.
She was married to Al Collier Sr on December 29, 1956. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Rose Ann Collier, 1 son, Al Collier Jr, 1 grandson, Roderick Smith Sr, 1 great grandson, Dalvin Smith, 2 sisters, Mary Ann Pastor and Jeanette Walker and 3 brothers, Joe McDonald, Jim Walker and J. T. Walker.

3 Daughters: Maxine Collier, Betty Jean Smith and Judy Sanders.
1 Son: Ricky Collier.
