Ronald J. Marshall (Owen; Ronnie) 64, of Syracuse, NY, died unexpectedly on June 11, 2020. Owen is predeceased by his parents Erl and Mary Marshall. He is survived by his loving wife Vicki (Stewart); a son Erl; step children Meghan Daniels (Michael), Rachel Schlegel (Teal), Harley Bucktooth (Cassidy), and Samuel Bucktooth; sisters Dorothy Bero (Kevin) and Andree Marshall; nieces Kelly and Carrie Bero; he was lovingly known as “Grumpy” to 8 grandchildren. Owen was an avid fisherman, golfer, life-long Boston Red Sox and Syracuse University sports fan. He will be remembered as kind, self-less and always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He was a member of the SAL Valley Post 1468, a member of the Salt City Dart League, and member of the Tent Camp. He had an extensive circle of friends who will hold fondly memories of growing up in the Valley, sharing good times at Pepper Youngs, the Elmwood Beer Garden and at Curley’s, the bar he owned with his Wife. He enjoyed spending summer days at the Landing Campground and the company at the American Legion post 1153 in Sylvan Beach. He enjoyed, and his family holds dear memories of spending many summers together at TI Park.

The “Dancing Bear” was often the life of the party and captivated everyone with his stories. Owen was loved and adored by his wife, children, grandchildren, and those who knew him best. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at the Valley American Legion at a later date.
