Services for Joe Wayne Morris, Sr. will be held Saturday, June 20, 2020 11:00 AM at Friendship West Baptist Church in Tutwiler, MS.
Mr. Morris, age 81, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his residence in Drew.
He was born on July 5, 1938 in Friendship, MS, to the late Homer David Morris, Sr. and Edna Vera Chandler Morris. Joe is preceded in death by his son, Wendell Morris, four brothers, Charles Morris, Homer Morris, Jr., Bobby Morris, and Billy Morris, and a sister, Juanita Logan.
Joe was in the Marine Corps and proudly served his country. He was retired from Ruleville manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cora Lee Griffin Morris of Drew, MS, his four sons, Joel (Donna "Lynn") Morris of Parks Bayou, MS, Ricky Morris of Parks Bayou, MS, Danny (Fran) Herring of Ruleville, MS, and Joe "Poncho" (Glenda) Morris, Jr. of Drew, MS, two daughters, Cindy (Bo) Horton of Ruleville, MS, and Kim Morris of Parks Bayou, MS, sister, Ella Mae Wagner of Memphis, TN, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Friendship West Baptist Church in Tutwiler. Rev. Van Lott and Carl Morris will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Morris, Jeremy Morris, Timothy Morris, Trey Boals, David Wagner, and Bill Morris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chuck Morris, and Chris Morris. Burial will follow in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville.
