Mary was born to the late A.Z. and Jessie Irby on June 25, 1928.
She was one of six children.
Mary's life was defined by her ability to love unconditionally. She was a devoted Christian. She loved the Lord and provided a foundation for her children and grandchildren that was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She spent her life genuinely dedicated to her family and friends.
She was a nurse by profession and her career was spent at Delta Memorial Hospital and Robinson Clinic where she spent a lifetime serving the people of Dumas and surrounding communities. Even when she was off work, she was always there to help anyone in need.
Mary loved nature.
To say that she loved to fish would be an understatement. It seemed she was happiest when fishing, gardening, picking up pecans, and spending time on a river bank.
Mary is survived by three daughters: Donna Brazil (James), Connie Gereaux (Jack), and Phyllis White; six grandchildren: Shelley Brazil Pittillo, Courtney Prince Harp, Cole Prince, Shaun Brazil, Michael Hobbs, and Mary Hobbs; two sisters: Deseree 'Dede' Thompson (Garland) and Margaret Gill; and ten great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ed Irby, Robert Irby, and Albert Irby.
Mary's Memorial Service will be held at Watson United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on November 24, 2014 with Reverend Walt Lowe officiating.
Inurnment in Watson Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas
