DAVIS – Barry Conrad Davis, age 66 of Dacula, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Katie Lou Reed Davis and William Brown Davis; his three siblings, Marvin Davis of Ashburn, Margaret Davis of Ashburn and Judy Davis Day of Dunwoody. Barry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patsy Webster Davis and his son, Kenneth Conrad Davis. He is also survived by his sisters, Winnell Davis Aikens of Dacula, Linda (Larry) Cox of Royston, Merle (Thomas) Stephens of Dacula; one brother Jerry (Candance) Davis of Dacula; and brother in law, Jim Day of Dunwoody. His passing also leaves several nieces, nephews and their children. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Kenney Edwards of Social Circle, formerly of Dacula. Barry was born at Joan Glancy Hospital in Duluth on October 15, 1953. He was the sixth of eight children. He attended Dacula Elementary School and Dacula High School. He graduated from Dacula High School in 1971 and played basketball, football and ran track. While at Dacula High School he was an outstanding basketball player and made the all-county team. Barry scored the first touchdown during the first football game that Dacula High School ever played. He was also a member of the Future Farmers of America and treasure of the senior class. Barry loved the Dacula community and did not want to live anywhere else. After high school, Barry pursued playing basketball in college, but his college career was cut short by Type 1 diabetes. Barry went to work for General Electric Company and was a loyal employee for 47 years. While at General Electric, Barry was a union representative for IBEW 613. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 20, 2020 in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Interment will follow the service at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Dacula. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM before the service.
