James Elwood "Junior" Riggs, age 78, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at his home. He was born February 16, 1942, in Maysville, Kentucky, to the late Elwood Riggs and Louise Lawrence. He loved to fish; but, ore than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include: three sons, James (Linda) Riggs, Charles (Donna) Riggs and Steven Riggs, all of Maysville, Kentucky; two daughters, Christina Riggs, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, and Suanne Shelton, of Winchester, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, Brittany (Brandon) Riggs, Kelsey (Dillion) Riggs, Devin Riggs, Brandon Welch, Kaelynn Heming, Jessica Hay, Sierra Anderson, Isiah Riggs, Laela Riggs, Weston Riggs, Colton Riggs, Elijah Riggs, Wendell Shelton, Serena Shelton, and Rebecca Fite; a brother, Freddy (Yoko) Riggs; four sisters, Hazel (Jerry) Egleston, Carol Applegate, Juanita Poe and Mae (Garry) Tune; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: six brothers, George Riggs, Harold Riggs, William C. Riggs, Billy Riggs, Robert "Bobby" Riggs and Adfrey "Buster" Riggs; and a sister, Jean White.
Services for James Riggs will be held at the convenience of his family.
