Carolyn J. Carter-Brown, 69, of Clinton passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at MercyOne – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 (noon) Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Serving at pallbearers will be Brandon Myers, Tremaine Davis, Melvin Payton, Jeremiah Johnson, Darius Carter, Brandon Carter and Stephan Johnson. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time at the funeral home.
Carolyn Jean Carter was born June 12, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of James and Drewsie (Gilmore) Carter, Sr. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Kennedy King Community College in Education. She worked as a preschool teacher while she lived in Chicago.
Carolyn enjoyed cooking, sewing, music and she was known for being a movie buff but mostly she enjoyed time spent with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Belinda Carter-Williams of Clinton, Raquel (Tremaine Davis) Carter of Moline and Angelique Carter of Clinton, step-daughter: Latoyia Brown of Madison, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Brandon, Kimberly, Stephan, Ivan, Iyanna, LeTandrea, Dorian, Shaletta, Marilyn, Melanie, Marrakesh and Nikkia; great grandchildren: Isis, Iris, Ava and Indigo; her mother: Drewsie Carter of Indiana; siblings: Annie Harper and Geanetta Thomas both of Davenport and Ernest Carter, Tommy Carter and Jimmie Carter all of Indiana; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father James Carter, Sr., her brother James Carter, Jr., and significant other Charles McFadden.
Memorials may be made to the family.
