Delores "Dee" George, 93, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital in Peoria. She was born in St. Louis on May 9, 1929, to Gerald and Dorothy (Sears) Thomas. She married Leonard "Len" George in Peoria on July 5, 1953; he preceded her in death on September 1, 2011.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Marlies Schmidt of East Peoria and Sieglinde Feidengruber of Germany; her granddaughter, Michele Schmidt of East Peoria; her two great grandchildren, Ryan Schmidt of East Peoria and Molly Kuehn of Washington; her sister, Mary King of Metamora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her three daughters, Karen, Lynne, and Sandra.
Delores and her husband were active members of the VFW Post 2078 where she served in the Auxillary. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria, with a Funeral Service following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
