HELPER - Deloy Lawrence Bogdin, age 84, passed June 28, 2006 at his home.
He was born Dec. 16, 1921 in Sunnyside to George and Mary Elanor Olsen Bogdin. Married Ora Orton Aug. 4, 1944 in Lawrence; marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 18, 1964.
Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was an elder and devoted many hours helping others.
Deloy was a lifelong resident of Carbon County where he worked in various coal mine operations prior to retirement in 1979. Member of UMWA Castle Gate Coal Local 1681.
Deloy enjoyed camping, fishing, playing dolls with his great-grandchildren and spoiling his grandchildren to their every delight.
Survived by wife of 61 years, Ora Bogdin, Helper; sons, Deloy (LaNae) Bogdin, Castle Dale; Leland Bogdin, John Bogdin, both of Price; Butch (Judy) Bogdin, Craig, Colo.; Jackie (Sue) Bogdin, Helper; sisters, Millie (Ted) Granger, Salt Lake; Ila Miers, West Jordan; Ileen Fish, Helper; brother, Floyd (Pat) Mackley, Price; and 16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parentsGeorge Bogdin and Mary Elenor Olsen Bogdin Jackson Mackley ; daughters, Rhonda and Arlene; granddaughter, Jackie; great-granddaughter, Kira; sisters, Betty, Leora, Vera; and brothers, Reese, George and Neldon.
Funeral service Saturday, July 1, noon, Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Primary Children's Medical Center, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249.
