Glenn Anthony Jones Sr., was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Herbert and Lillian Jones on January 25, 1959. He graduated from Boys High School in Brooklyn, NY where he played football. After graduating from high school, Glenn enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps, where he served two tours of duty. Glenn lived in southern California and worked as a non-destructive testing Supervisor, while serving in the military. He later moved to Atlanta and went on to earn his Bachelorette Degree from Strayer University with honors.
After the Marine Corps, Glenn worked as a long-distance truck driver, international freight broker, real estate agent and futures trader. Glenn was a devoted husband, he adored his wife, Pamela. Glenn and Pamela both enjoyed vacationing and traveling, Mexico was one of their favorite destinations, they went on cruises to many different countries for their birthdays and anniversaries.
Glenn loved his children, and adored his grandchildren and had a special place in his heart for the oldest, Jammar. He would always say “God Bless the child that’s got his own”, encouraging his children to be independent. He enjoyed the grandkids sleep overs, weekend stays and vacations, especially the trips to Florida, and shopping with and for them.
Glenn had a beautiful tenor voice and sang in the church choir for many years, he loved being around people and he welcomed the opportunity to tell of his high school athletics. Glenn was overjoyed to reconnect with his high school buddies, on a trip to Brooklyn a few years ago. He loved attending their annual reunion, and could hardly wait until the next one.
Glenn played tennis, bicycled, rock climbing and deep-sea fishing and later in life his favorite things to do were watching Nascar racing and getting together with his tailgate buddies for football and with his neighbor buddies for sports events and to play pool. He loved all these guys.
His jokes were free flowing and his laughter was boisterous. He was a friend to many and always took the time to encourage all who would listen, Glenn will be sorely missed.
Glenn departs his loving wife, Pamela, their son Anthony, children from his previous marriage, Glenn Jr., Jaisha and Jannae, his sisters Shirley, Karen, Cherise, the late Jennifer and Loren, 9 grandchildren, his cherished Aunt Gwendolyn, cousins and many friends.
