Martin F. Andres, 74, of Church Street, Swoyersville, died Sunday afternoon at his home.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, December 9, 1930, a son of the late Martin and Marie (Reilly) Andrescavage.
He attended Coughlin High School. Mr. Andres was an Army veteran serving from 1955 to 1957.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed for many years at the Acme Warehouse in Forty Fort. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Martin was an avid gardener.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Geraldine Grohol; sons Neil Andres, West Wyoming; Duane Andres, Mattawa, Washington; Gregg Andres, Wyoming; Brian Andres, Easton; Martin Andres, Kingston, and Cary Andres, Germantown, Maryland; daughters Debbie Greco, Yardley, and Michelle Andres, Herndon, Virginia; 12 grandchildren; sister Barbara Skrepenak, Dallas; nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 or to Hospice Community Care, 385 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
