Ms. Mildred Mitchell of 2902 Fair Avenue passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Abbeville, SC on November 20, 1930 to the late Mr. Worth Mitchell and Mrs. Burnell Glenn Mitchell. At an early age, Mildred moved to White Plains, New York to support her family. She worked at the White Plains Hotel as a cook and she was a Certified Home Health Aide. During her time in New York, Mildred had strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In 2019, Mildred and her son, Gerald moved back to her loved hometown in Newberry. Mildred was a Historian for the Walter, Ella, Allen and Gwyn families.

Ms. Mitchell was predeceased by one daughter, Jacqueline Mitchell; one sister, Margaret Mitchell; four brothers, Alvin Mitchell (AKA) ABU BAKR ALI, James Charles Mitchell, Raymond Mitchell and John B. Mitchell.

Those who celebrate her beautiful life and cherish precious memories include two sons, Larry W. Mitchell (Cheryl) of Newberry, SC and Gerald Louis Mitchell of the home; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one great granddaughter; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including her beloved church family
