Helen L. (Atkisson) Price, 92, of Olney and formerly of West Liberty, died Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Burgin Manor in Olney.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements.
Helen was born May 17, 1923 in Clay City, the daughter of Eugene and Maggie (Fry) Atkisson.
Helen was a hairdresser out of her home for more than 30 years. She was Methodist by faith. She was also a member of the Newton Library Book Club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
She is survived by a son, Leo Thompson and wife, Judy of Weatherford, Texas; four daughters, Donna Keen of Mattoon, Glenda Truitt and husband, Ted of Plainfield, Indiana, Peggy Jausel and husband, Russell of Olney and Ruth Furry and husband, Keith of Mattoon; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Maggie Atkisson; one son, Morris Strother; three brothers, Leo, Edward and Leland Atkisson; one sister, Faye Atkisson Huffman; and a grandson, Patrick Elie.
