MSG Kevin Wood, 48 years old of Clarksville, Arkansas passed away June 13, 2020 at his home with his loved ones by his side.

He was born on October 8, 1971 to Mr. Norman and Joann (Holman) Wood in Ozark, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lawrence Holman, Jeff, and Elsie Wood.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Shelly (Poteete) Wood of the home; his two sons, Kolbey Wood of Clarksville, Keaton and wife Bethany Wood of Clarksville, one daughter Jordan and husband Nathan Yates of Coal Hill, two grandchildren: Adelie Yates and Kaelynn Renee Wood, his father Norman and wife Diane Wood of Clarksville, mother Joann Wood of Clarksville, two brothers: Jeff and wife Brenda Wood of Clarksville, Dale and Jean Wood of Clarksville, grandmother Lola Woods of Lamar, father and mother in law Mike and Joy Wilson of Coal Hill, two step sisters: Deanna and husband Cody Pearrow of Clarksville, Andrea and husband Andrew Archer of Clarksville, a host of other family and friends.

MSG Kevin Wood was an invaluable member of the Arkansas National Guard. During his over 24 years of service to our country, he was a leader and a mentor to countless service members. Kevin served as a Platoon Sergeant during Operation Noble Eagle. He served as a 1SG of C/2-142 FA during their deployment to Talli, Iraq. MSG Kevin Wood received numerous awards for his dedicated service to our country including the Bronze Star Medal. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. Kevin was a faithful man and loved to serve his Lord and Church. Kevin was a member of East Mt. Zion Church in Clarksville, where he served his church as a Deacon.He enjoyed sailing, hunting, and fishing in his free time, Kevin loved to spend his time with his family.

Kevin will have an open visitation Tuesday and Wednesday, June 16 & 17, 2020 between 10:00-4:00 pm at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Family will receive friends and family 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor visitations to 50 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

MSG Kevin Wood's funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 18, 2020, at East Mt. Zion Church, with Bro. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Jeff Wood, Dale Wood, Keaton Wood, Kolbey Wood, Nathan Yates, and Monty Watts serving as Pall Bearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of East Mt. Zion Church. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral attendance at East Mt. Zion Church to 154 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
