David W. Courtney, 63, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Kornerstone Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

David was born on January 21, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up and graduated from high school in Kansas. He married JoEtta Douglas on July 10, 1981. David served in the military for 22 ½ years serving mostly in the United States Air Force and a short stint in the Army Reserves. He did many things after his military service, but he was most proud of his time serving his country.

He is preceded in death by his parents who raised him, Laddie and Wanda Shutt; birth parents, Clarence and Erma Courtney; one brother, Phillip Courtney and one sister, Helen Leslie.

David is survived by his wife JoEtta Courtney of Plainview; three children, T.J. Blackwell and husband Roger of Clinton, Missouri, Christopher Courtney and wife Terri of Plainview, Chad Courtney and wife Kristy of Eureka, Kansas; three brothers, Steve Courtney of Livingston, TX, Dan Courtney of Wichita, Kansas, Jim Courtney of Claremore, OK; one sister, Lyn Sherman of Riverside, CA; 15 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
