"Our Special Dad"

Norwood was known as "Pinky" and very few people called him by his birth name of Norwood. He also was known to a few by another nickname of "Jim". He loved to go camping with his Family. Among his hobbies he liked to hunt, fish and most of all in the Spring, go Mushroom hunting. He usually out did all the rest of us. My dad was very handy and could fix most anything. He loved to make things out of wood. One Christmas, when his daughters were growing up, he made each of us a beautiful doll cradle and a small wardrobe for our doll clothes. We treasure the many things that he made for each of us over the years. He sold many of his talented pieces at the Arts and Craft Shows.

Norwood worked for many years at American Coach, Cree Coach and he retired from Eaton Yale and Town. He enjoyed several years of retirement before his passing.

Norwood Harris Jr. was the son of, Norwood and Minnie Helen (Bohne) Harris Sr. He married, Vera Vivian Ragan on July 23, 1948 in Dowagiac, Cass County, Michigan. They had four daughters, Linda Reeves, Judy (Dave) Land, Christine (Fred) Schroeder and Glenda Stephens. He is survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many in-laws and friends. His father, passed on July 20, 1929 age 34 years from TB and his older sister, Mary Ellen Harris passed in June, 1928 at age 8 years. They are both buried in the Augusta Cemetery, Kalamazoo County, Augusta, Michigan. His step father, Clyde Lutin and his mother, Minnie Helen (Bohne, Harris), Lutin are buried in the Bly Cemetery, Cass County, Marcellus, Michigan and his sister, Charlotte Mae (Harris, Hall), Kelley is buried in the Adamsville Cemetery, Cass County, Adamsville, Michigan. One grandson, Harold Ray Reeves III, passed on Oct. 22, 1993 and is buried in the Sims Whitney Cemetery, AuGres, MI. Memorials to the Marcellus Ambulance Service.

Cause of Death: COPD and Pneumonia
He was very much loved and we all miss him so much. We know that he is looking down upon us. We have a Special Guardian Angel. Our chain will link again one day, when we all meet In Heaven.

He Served: Tec 5 At CO 160th INF. Southern Philippines, Asiatic-Pacific Theater.

He had Blue Eyes, Brown Hair, 5'2" Tall, Weight 126#

He entered the Service at Fort Custer, Augusta, Michigan on 02 Oct 1942. He received and was Honorably Discharged from the military service (Army) of the United States of America at Separation Center, Fort Sheridan, Illinois 19 February 1946.
