He was born January 2, 1948, at Mallory, the son of Clara (Hendricks) Woods of Logan and the late Claude Woods.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Claudetta and Cledia; and one brother, Clyde.
Danny was a 1966 graduate of Man High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in the Viet Nam War. Danny received an honorable discharge from the military and returned to coal mining in Logan County. He met the love of his life Sharon Damron and in 1972 they married. Danny became a Federal Mine Inspector and retired as an Education Training Specialist. Danny enjoyed hunting, fishing, Little League, Man High School Sports, Managing the Man Pool for many years, and talking to everyone especially the children. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Sharon (Damron) Woods; one son, Bradley Woods of NV; his mother, Clara Woods of Logan, one sister, Patricia "Pat" Woods; two brothers, Roger Woods and Paul Woods;
several nieces, nephews, and cousins along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Brother Sheldon Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard.
Pall bearers will family and friends.
