Leslie was born on November 12, 1931, in Gonzales, Texas to Madilean Harris Faurie and Elie Faurie. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Blanco. Leslie was a retired building inspector for the State of Texas. He loved fishing, camping and travel. As a volunteer, he loved giving back to his community. His name is listed on the Honor Wall at the Blanco EMS building for his service and he oversaw the construction of the Parish Hall at St. Ferdinand. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Wanda Bluhm Faurie of Blanco; son, James Faurie and his wife Elizabeth of Wichita Falls; daughters, Joyce Phillips and her husband Doug of Fischer and Janice Faurie of Blanco; grandchildren, Danielle Wisniewski and her husband Drew, Erin Faurie, Lauren Faurie; and great-grandson, Maverick Wisniewski. Leslie was preceded in death by his brothers, Elie Milton (Junior) Faurie and Daniel A. Faurie; sisters, Madeline Syma, Dorothy Harrison, Margaret (Margie) Faurie and Amelia Faurie.
A visitation will take place from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Blanco with burial to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Twin Sisters, Texas.
