Janice Jensen, 81, Minot and formerly of Parshall, Stanley and West Fargo, died on May 28, 2020, in her home from natural causes.
Janice Marie Clark was born on May 25, 1939, in Parshall, ND. She was the first born of three children to Arthur and Anna (Rakstad) Clark and was raised and educated in Parshall. She graduated from Parshall High School in 1957 and as a young adult was employed at the People’s State Bank, Parshall.
Janice was married in Parshall to Gene H. Jensen on December 5, 1965. They were the parents of Dawn, Henry and Joel. They made their home in Seattle and Stanley. After the divorce, Janice and the children lived in Parshall and she dedicated her life to raising her children, especially Joel, who was challenged with cerebral palsy. Janice moved to West Fargo in 1985 so Joel could attend a special school. Following Joel’s graduation from West Fargo High School they moved to Minot where she since had lived.
Janice was an avid reader, a love she passed on to her children. Also, she enjoyed playing cards, solving puzzles and visiting with people. She was one of the kindest people you could ever meet and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Janice’s loving family includes her children: Dawn Nelson of Stanley, Henry Jensen of Seattle and Joel Jensen of Minot; son-in-law: Scott Nelson of Minot; grandchildren: Brittany (Jordan) Giesen of Makoti, Brooke Nelson and Jeremiah Nelson, both of Minot, Jesse Nelson and Benjamin Nelson, both of Stanley; great-grandchildren: Madison and George Giesen; brother: Donovan Clark of Fargo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerry.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
