Clara Bea (Hill) Ray, age 84, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the Lynchburg Nursing Home in Lynchburg. Mrs. Ray was born on March 25, 1923 to the late George Hill and Nancy (Gass) Hill. She was a homemaker and member of the Cowan Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lanny Hershel Ray and sister, Louise Rowland. Mrs. Ray is survived by two sisters, Hazel Blanton and Edna Baker; three nieces, Betty Watkins, Jerry Blevins, and Linda Thayer; and one nephew, Kenneth Blanton. Visitation with the family was held Friday, August 31, 2007 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester. Graveside funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bobby J. Hancock Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan with burial following.
