Sharon Kay Weber Waters
Sharon was born to Roland Henry and Esther Amelia Martha (Schlicher) Weber on June 16, 1941 in Hoxie, Sheridan County, Kansas and died June 10, 2020 in Indiana. Sharon was baptized as an infant at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hoxie on July 1, 1941. She was later confirmed at Minneapolis, Kansas in the Lutheran Church in 1955. Sharon lived in and around the surrounding area until after her high school graduation from Sheridan Community High School in 1959. She worked in Hays at the hospital. She married George Stewart December 25, 1963. To this union a daughter, Trela Renae Stewart was born on September 15, 1964. They divorced. Sharon then went to cosmetology school and worked in Wichita. She met and married Lewis Charles Waters on August 13, 1968. He was in the military and Sharon went to Indiana to be close to his family until his return to civilian life. They were blessed with three daughters: Judith Ann, Yolanda Jo, and Susan Kay. Sharon and Lewis divorced. Sharon lived in Marion, Indiana and worked at the Veteran’s Hospital there while her daughters attended school and graduated from High School there. She since has had to move to a nursing home in Marion and give up her home. She later was in Riverview Village nursing home, closer to her daughter, Yolanda. Sharon has loved her church, Lakeview Wesleyan, in Marion and was quite active in it as her health allowed. Sharon is survived by her daughter Trela Waters of Muncie, Indiana, daughter Yolanda Jo Abbas, her husband, and daughter Batoul Sabah Abbas of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister, Marjorie (Leo) Knoll of Hays, Kansas, and sisters-in-laws Leila Weber of Nevada and Kay Weber of Kansas as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Michael Weber in 2008, Robert Weber in 2003, and sister Patricia Ann Weber in 2000. She also was preceded by the two infant daughters Judith Ann Waters in 1969 and Susan Kay Waters in 1976. Public visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM. Due to COVID19 restrictions, we are following state guidelines and wearing masks are recommended.
