A Graveside service for Carol will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery south of Lehigh, Iowa.
Carol June Carpenter was born on March 23, 1948, in Lehigh, Iowa, the daughter of Carrel and Ruth (Miller) Carpenter. She received her education from Woodward Resource Center. Following her education, Carol worked at the Marion Home, several years at The Messenger and most recently at Iowa Central Industries until her retirement.
Carol loved The Lord. She regularly attended Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge and Chapel service at Friendship Haven until her health prevented. She was an avid fan of Iowa Hawkeye’s football and men’s basketball, and she loved watching Chicago Cubs baseball. Dear to her heart were daily conversations with her cousins, friends and family.
Carol’s family would like to give special thanks to Judy (Poe) McGee for her devoted assistance and special care over many years of Carol’s life.
Survivors include her sisters, Elberta (Ron) Anscholtz, Margaret (Dale) Dutcher, Doris (John) Hammond, and Bobbie (Gene) Blaskey; one brother, Larry Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Zelda Zabel.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
