Callie J. Spencer Howard was the eldest child of John Melbourne Spencer and Rosetta Louisa Hackney of Friendsville, Tennessee. She married James Andrew Frank Howard on August 12, 1898 in Loudon, Tennessee. Callie was of the Quaker faith and attended the local Friends Church in Friendsville along with her in-laws William E. and Milly Barnhill Howard and children. Callie and Frank had two daughters, Frankie Mae Howard Wheatley and Marie Louise Howard Clark Hale. They raised Louise's daughter Betty Lou Clark at their home at 219 Pecan Street in Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas. I remember Callie as "Grammer". She was a sweet, large, soft woman whose pecan shortbread cookies were my favorite. Love, Gloria Jeanne
