Born in Pasadena, Maryland, on July 23, 1935, he was the son of the late William Mortimer and Myrtle Dyer Langley.
An Air Force Veteran for 15 ½ years, Mr. Langley had retired from Valdosta State University where he worked as an Air Conditioner/Heating mechanic. He was a Baptist. Mr. Langley loved fishing and hunting and he was devoted to his dog Sadie. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors are his daughters and their husbands, Janet M. (Greg) McMullen of Valdosta, Elaine (Paul) Strickland of Lake Park; grandchildren, Chad Moore of Lake Park, Dee (Terry) Knighton of Jennings, Florida, Jay Moore of Lake Park; seven great grandchildren; his faithful canine companion, Sadie; brother and sister in law, William “Po” and Ruth Langley of Phoenix, Arizona; sister in law, Barbara Jean Crosby of Orange Park, Florida; many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Reverend Skip Van Nus will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the USA Rescue Team, 3338 Country Club Rd L1-PMB 272 Valdosta, 31605. www.mclanecares.com
