Brian E. Holloway Sr., 66, of Quaker Hill, Conn., beloved husband of Kathy (Clark) Holloway, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Bride Brook Health & Rehabilitation Center in Niantic.
Born in New London, he was the son of the late Keith and Mary Ellen (Geer) Holloway.
Brian worked as a machinist at Harris Graphics for 24 years. Prior to his retirement in 2009, he worked for 16 years in the transportation department at Foxwoods.
Brian was an avid antique car enthusiast for many years and was a member of the Westerly/Pawcatuck Antique Car Club and the Yankee Yesteryear Club of Oakdale. He enjoyed restoring and showing his 1939 Chevy and his 1939 Master Deluxe Sedan at local area shows.
Brian was also a musician who loved playing the keyboard and would often be found playing for the residents at local area nursing homes.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Brian E. Holloway Jr. and his wife, Jessica, of Wallingford, and James Holloway and his wife, Darlene, of Groton; brother-in-law, Mark Clark, of Pawcatuck; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Prachniak, of Pawcatuck; and two grandchildren, Ryder and Ty Holloway.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Bride Brook Health & Rehabilitation Center for their quality care and kindness.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic (51 Williams Ave.).
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery Pawcatuck.
